Poem by Paul, with whom we were riding for a while in Australia (July 2008):

Side by side,

I see them ride.

A beautiful landscape that lies ahead,

A thinner mat than mine for their outback bed.

After a chilly night a new day dawns,

In the morning light we rise with dreary yawns.

In my mirrow they ride two a breast,

And every night the tent is their nest.

Not an ounce of meat would either of them eat,

And their lightweight food sure had me beat.

We laugh and we chat,

Talk about here and there, this 'n' that.

But when they ride together into the setting sun,

It brings a tear to my eye how they ride as one.

Yet on two seperate bikes is how they dance,

In my dreams of joy would lie such a romance.

It makes me sad but I'm ever so happy to be -

in their glad Austrian company.

Philipp, Valeska and me,

A fine journey we shall have and be.

Your friend Paul.

Nicole and Craig welcome us to their home (March 2008):

TWO HEARTS TO BIKE

May be this sunset is last sunset,
May be this sunset is end of a life,
During this sunset, some loves finish,
During this sunset, some throws stone to sea for a wish.

During sunset ,two hearts continue to bike,
and PROST the glasses for a hopefull life.

May be this sunsrise is last sunrise,
May be this sunrise is birth of last hope,
During this sunrise, there are many chains to broke,
During this sunrise, there are many flowers to smell.

During sunrise, two hearts continue to bike,
and PROST the glasses for a lucky life.

May be this love is last love of mine,
May be this love is last commend to brain from heart,
May be this love is  sharpen side of the knife,
Please come my youngness back to my life.

During my love, two hearts continue to bike,
and PROST the glasses for a lovely life.
